Sorry! Been busy...

School holidays are in their second week and we are taking them slowly with a dash of relaxation thrown in! It has been nice not having to race around like crazy in the morning, just to make it to the school bus stop on time! Mmmm... semi-sleep-ins! LOL. This pleasantness of just taking it easy will end next week I'm sure, when resumes. However, I'm hoping the kids will surprise me!

Like I said, we haven't been doing too much apart from the camping trip at the start of the school holidays and some swimming at Grandma & Granddad's place. We do have another camping expedition this weekend that we are all looking forward to. This time near the Mt Mee National Park.

Water restrictions have been temporarily lifted due to the dust storms lately, and we took advantage for the kids to be put to hard labor and wash the cars! It was too much fun for them though, until...
...someone didn't get her share of using the hose! tee hee!

I've been scrapping too, but can't show yet. I've made it to round 3 of the Scrapboxx DT competition! Yay! Only one more round to go...I'm on the edge of my seat, chewing my fingernails! LOL! I'm coming a VERY close second at the moment! I've gone much further than I'd have dreamt....fingers crossed anyway!

Thanks for visiting.

Clear skies and create...

Wow! What a difference a day makes....

We woke to beautiful clear blue skies today. No sign of yesterday's dust storm except for the red dust that has settled EVERYWHERE inside the house! I am so glad I had the windows closed before I left the house yesterday!!!

So, before I get stuck into some more cleaning, I thought I might also share some layouts I have finished lately...

This one "Lil chef", was for one of the Paint a Rainbow challenges at Scrap Biz... I just didn't get time to post it over there! :) Sheree set the challenge to scrap with Orange, Green, Red and Yellow.

Journaling says..."Mummy? Can I help you cook? We can be Masterchefs together!"

My next layout was created for Emilie Ahern's "Project, Project..."

Again, I didn't get time to post it for last week... :D This time the challenge was to use Yellow, Green and Navy Blue.

Thanks for visiting. Got to drag myself off now to clean up some more of the red stuff!

Dust storm...

This morning, Sydney-siders woke to blood red skies... by lunch time today, the dust has reached our doorstep in Southeast Queensland...

The air is quite thick with dust and we are starting to view the world in a rose, (perhaps even slightly orange), coloured hue... How is it looking outside your home today? Hope you are breathing a lot easier than we are. :)

Amamoor camping...

So.... We have survived a relatively uneventful, camping experience. Yay!! It was a relaxing and fun getaway with good friends. The best way to go camping. Now, if I could only make the clean up and mountain loads of washing disappear, I'd say it was a brilliant little break... but as it stands, it was still a lovely time. Sadly, if the Traveston Dam project goes ahead, this beautiful National Park and all it's surrounding will most likely go under water...

This camping trip was also Cameron's first time at going away. Not just camping but being away from home and all his comforts. We were quite concerned that he wouldn't settle at night and disturb the peace for other campers. We were wrong in that he wouldn't settle at night. He did a great job. It was just during the day where he didn't want to be parted from me for one moment. LOL!

I didn't take a lot of photos on this trip..(too busy juggling a baby!) but we did manage to go on a bush walk...with 14 kids in tow! Not all of them pictured here!

Some of us slept though it....

While some of us explored...

And we found the time for some swimming on a 33degree Celsius day. Actually, that was a must!

The only downfall (other than packing up and going home..) were the goannas. They are very comfortable with campers and travelling through the campsites without a second glance. They were quite pesky on our last day, breaking into the garbage to scavenge for scraps of food. I didn't want the kids to come out second best in a goanna fight! Especially since some of the goannas were quite large and probably more than capable of taking down a child or two...

Thanks for visiting.

An update...

I have been really itching to post on my blog... The only problem is, I haven't really had much to say of late. Or maybe it's because my head is so muddled up from lack of sleep that I can't really think of anything interesting to share! LOL!

I have been participating in a few challenges over at The Boxx. Namely the Masterscrap competition for the design team position. What a dream that would be... Well, for me anyway! I can't share at the moment... Maybe after Sunday when I possibly get knocked out of the competition! LOL! (The competition is running for 4 weeks with only half the number of layouts continuing on to the next round...) Fingers crossed. There is a lot of talent over there. :D

Cameron is now 10 weeks old! Everyone is remarking on how much he looks like Liam. Even Liam's teacher!!

Maybe there is a little bit of a resemblance there!

But I can see it here too.

And possibly here as well!
Can you tell that the kids are really loving having a baby in the house! And who wouldn't when you are greeted with this...

Thanks for stopping by.

Project, project...

It's time for Week 3 of Emilie Ahern's Project, project.... And this week it focuses on creating a water or water themed project. I went to the beach with my Project!

Sorry, the colours are better in real life and I've tried to do it justice here :)... This is an absolute stunning part of the world and fortunately for us, it is right on our back doorstep!

Thanks for stopping by....

Pirates, cats, an art show and growing feet...

I really think the title says it all! Yes we have been really busy this past week! So busy I have almost lost track of what we are supposed to be doing and when!

We have had book week, where Liam dressed up as a pirate...Yes, I know. Not very inspiring but with only 3 days notice (& a new baby in the house!) he didn't have a lot of options! LOL!! All I can say is.... Thank goodness Tahlia didn't have to do "book week" this year as well!

She did however, have a performance on parade. She was a cat!

Liam had an ART show! Which was just brilliant and quite impressive...Grade One students and their families had a great time.

And we had Hockey break-up and presentation. Something I didn't have enough hands for and didn't take the camera with me. What was I thinking? :)
Anyway, I will leave this short and lacking-in-detail post with a picture of 8 week-old feet!

Got to love that!

Project, project...

Okay... I am a little late with this one. But it is here finally, and it is all about circles...

And since it is a little about Project Runway, I've thrown in some stitching too!

Thanks for looking.

Be calm...

Well.... be as calm as you can be, while under pressure! tee hee! (she is a wonderful big sister and a great helper, especially when I have my camera in hand!) LOL!!
